Taste of the Town 2008 Programme Update

Taste of the Town 2008 Programme Update

We welcome both Muller and Pork Farms to the country market. They will be taking stalls alongside local producers from family farms reflecting their significance to the rural economy.

Taste Shropshire are providing a two page coverage of the event in their popular magazine.

Sophie has volunteered to take our flyers to the Canal Fun day on Sunday 25 May and the Market Drayton Carnival on Monday. Say hello if you see her there.

Interest is being shown in reestablishing the links between the town and villages but our attempt to get a grant for an introductory leaflet or feasibility study have failed. Any help welcomed. People ask Philippa and Jeff if they are full time employees. It feels like it sometimes, but the bikes with their upright handle bars give it away.

We were pleased that the free fishing day captured the interest not only of 10 young people who received coaching from professional angling coaches, but of the County Youth Service who may take this on board and organise such events into their own programme. Thanks to all involved.

The next free taster day for young peoples activities in the Countryside is late pm Friday 13 June when they will be encouraged to explore the local countryside with a digital camera. Contact Andy Haller at the Market Drayton Youth Centre 01630 655514 or speak email Jeff@foodconnection.co.uk
