Tony lives in Shrewsbury and is the Health Promotion Specialist operating across Northern Shropshire. His family owned a grocery shop in Shrewsbury. He worked briefly as a Pizza Chef in the Prince Rupert Hotel before graduating from Wolverhampton University with a degree in Psychology/Business Studies. Tony joined the National Health Service  (1981) as a Pharmacy Technician. He became a para-medic in the ambulance service, studied for his teaching certificate and moved on to teaching psychology and health studies at the Shropshire College of Art and Technology.  In 1997 Tony joined the Health Promotion team and  has since completed his Masters in Public Health.

Childhood obesity is on the increase and Tony is promoting the importance of healthy eating, nutrition and appropriate diet . He also has a strategic lead on mental health promotion across Shropshire and  is currently developing a  suicide prevention strategy for the County . He represents the Primary Care Trust at Stoke Heath Young Offenders Institute and is writing a Health Promotion action plan for both staff and trainees .

He offers to the network experience in partnership working and support in kind and funding for the development of local food related initiatives.  Also offering support for generic health promotion initiatives that attempt to reduce health inequalities within the local community.
