Georgina Williamson

Georgina moved with the family to Home Farm Peplow in 1982 when she was one year old. .

Georgina helped out on the mixed farm and worked part-time at Safeways. She went to the Grove School and took particular interest in Environmental Science. One of her projects was on the quality of the water on the river Tern. For her dissertation towards her degree in Environmental Studies at Kings College, Georgina studied the effects trampling effects on grassland using the farm as a study. The course included a number of issues related to farming.

She is now doing casual jobs, working from home and taking an interest in local environmental changes. These include the effects of the Hodnet by-pass on the environment. Home farm is in the process of changing over to organic methods.

 


Looking for
Offering to
Georgina is looking to the network for opportunities to pursue her interest. She would like to keep in touch with what is happening locally and know more about the range and variety of projects. She is looking to gain the experience that will help her get a full time job.
Georgina is offering to research environmental information for members. She has taken on the voluntary role of link person on environmental issues for the Taste of the Town Co.
