Clare is the part-time Public Relations and Marketing Manager for Barbers. Her brief covers all the activities of the Company from Agriculture to the Livestock Market. She also organises agricultural seminars providing information to farmers about changes to the law and other reforms.

Clare was brought up on Standford Hall Farm near Newport. She obtained a degree in Mathematical Business Analysis from Wolverhampton University,. She intended to train as an accountant but looked for something that involved working with people. Moving into Marketing, Clare worked for a contract stationers in Telford and after seven years moved to Barbers to get back to the environment that she grew up in. She now lives on a livestock farm in Ellesmere together with her partner.

Clare was very involved with the Young Farmers Club in Newport and achieved recognition in both the County and the Region for her contributions. Her involvement with the Newport Show began when she helped on the Newport Young Farmers stand.

She has been keen to promote the educational activities of the Young Farmers among younger people. It remains important to her that young people should know where their food comes from. Clare joined the Show Committee and for the past four years has organised the Food Hall Area as a showcase for local food producers. She also works with sponsors to provide equipment and people to mount cookery demonstrations during the show. She is a member of the Public Relations Committee for the Show.

Clare recently moved to Ellesmere on what used to be a Dairy Farm. The Cheese stores are still there. She enjoys cooking and entertaining. Her favourite TV Channel is UK Food. The possibility of diversification interests her. Clare is now learning about beef production.
