Ian and Ann Jones

Go back

Mr and Mrs Jones manage a fruit and vegetable stall at the Market Drayton market on Wednesdays. They sell food from all over the world, even catering for the more adventurous chefs and enthusiastic cooks. In addition, they supply hotels and restaurants in the area, reaching from the Four Alls as far north as Whitchurch, Nantwich and Crewe.

Ian comes from a farming family in Audlem. He has a wide knowledge of fruit and vegetables and his career within this particular trade spans over 30 years of experiences. Ann is originally from Crewe and her family has been involved in the grocery business since the middle of last century. She has always been involved in retail.

Until recent years, Ian concentrated on wholesale, but he is now focused on the retailing aspect of the trade. His mother was an excellent cook, which has given him an appreciation for good quality food. She made her own jams, chutney and butter.
