Georgina
John is the owner of a delightful shop stocking just about everything
imaginable in miniature, for dolls houses. Heritage Homes opened
in September 2002 and Georgina is enjoying teaching people about
her trade and attending fairs. She was born in
South Wales and gained a degree in textiles from Manchester. Following
this, Georgina worked as a management trainer. Today, one of Georgina's
main hobbies is being a proud member of the SideSaddle Association
for which she is treasurer of the local branch.
At the Taste of the Town Exhibition in 2002, Georgina visually
represented Market Drayton in miniature with numerous buildings,
gardens and portrayed the food production in the town by creating
miniature signs and items such as pies. There was a range of miniature
food in the form of salmon, vegetables and Palethorpes pies; the
majority of the other stalls present were featured in her display. |
Georgina is pleased to spend time
with visitors into the area and stresses the history of the area.
The term 'gingerbread' originated in America where it was used to
describe the trimmings for a dolls house. It is now recognised all
over the world and has also become one of the symbols of Market
Drayton. Georgina stocks miniature gingerbread, which are very
popular.
The services which Georgina offers
range from showing customers and enquirers her range of miniature
goods, through to doing restorations, renovations, building to requirements,
decorating and providing materials for those who wish to build
their own miniature objects. She has also built wedding figurines
for cakes to order and makes feature boxes for photographs, which
are extremely popular, particularly for older relatives. |

Georgina is hoping to draw from the network contact
with local crafts people and to establish links with the
miniature
trade in France. She would welcome the
opportunity to exchange
traditional miniature English goods for French food and
furniture.

She offers to prepare
and provide a display of minatures
at local promotions exhibitions
or events.
